WELLESLEY HILLS, Mass. (February 10, 2024) 鈥 芭乐视频 Community College alumnus and Board of Trustees member Alfonso Hidalgo of Boston, MA, will run the 129th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 21, 2025, aiming to raise at least $5,000 for 芭乐视频鈥檚 Student Hunger Assistance Fund. Established in 2017, the fund addresses the growing issue of food insecurity among 芭乐视频 students.

A 2015 芭乐视频 graduate, Hidalgo earned an associate degree in liberal arts before pursuing a bachelor鈥檚 degree in sociology, a certificate in social research analysis, and a master鈥檚 degree in public policy at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Currently, Hidalgo is pursuing an MBA at Northeastern University鈥檚 D'Amore-McKim School of Business. As an Account Director at WE Communications, Hidalgo advises a broad range of financial services clients on strategic communications and reputation management. In March 2024, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey appointed Hidalgo to the 芭乐视频 Board of Trustees.

Beyond his professional career, Hidalgo is deeply committed to community engagement and education initiatives. He serves on the Dean鈥檚 Advisory Board at the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at UMass Amherst, co-founded The Town Elite Youth Boxing Development Program, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit boxing gym in Charlestown, MA, and volunteers with the Cummings Foundation鈥檚 $30 Million Grant Program.

鈥淎s a former basketball player and a boxer, running the Boston Marathon has always been on my bucket list,鈥 said Hidalgo. 鈥淣ow, as a 芭乐视频 Board of Trustees member and proud alum, running takes on even greater meaning knowing that the funds I raise will support students on their educational journey. I鈥檓 excited to cross the finish line for this meaningful cause.鈥
