Health Insurance

Massachusetts State Law requires health insurance for all students carrying nine (9) or more credit hours, and for all students in the Health Profession Programs regardless of credit load. Charges may be waived online if you are covered by a comparable policy.

Want to Waive the Health Insurance Fee?

You can submit a waiver online in Bay Navigator. Waivers should be submitted before paying your bill. All waivers must be completed prior to add/drop period ending, otherwise the charge will remain on your bill and payment will be required.

Want to Purchase Health Insurance through °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ?

Students cannot be enrolled in the insurance policy until the full premium has been paid. It is recommended that students pay the insurance premium in full by the start of classes. Because of this, if you set up a payment plan, please be sure the full premium amount is paid by the September 5th payment.

We recommend that you email the Student Accounts Office at studentaccounts@massbay.edu to confirm your intent to enroll and verify if your payment, payment plan or financial aid will be enough to cover the balance.

The annual coverage is for the period beginning September 1st through August 31st. The Spring coverage is for the period January 1st through August 31st.

Students are officially enrolled in the health insurance plan after the semester’s add/drop period ends. While enrollment takes a little time to process, coverage is retroactive—starting September 1 for the fall semester and January 1 for the spring semester.

Once the insurance premium is paid in full and the add/drop period has concluded, your enrollment will be submitted. Shortly after, a member ID will be generated. You can then use this member ID to access your digital insurance card through Blue Cross Blue Shield.
